Karnataka Election will be more interested

The Karnataka Legislative Assembly election was last held in May 2018. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the single largest party with 104 seats in the 224-member assembly. However, they fell short of the majority mark of 112 seats required to form the government.

After days of political maneuvering, the Congress party with 78 seats and the Janata Dal (Secular) with 37 seats formed a post-poll alliance and approached the Governor to form the government with the support of independent MLAs. The Governor invited the alliance to form the government and HD Kumaraswamy of the JD(S) was sworn in as the Chief Minister with Congress’ support.

The 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election is expected to be held in the first half of 2023, but the exact dates have not been announced yet.
